Notions of Freedom...

Here are some of the latest additions to Home of the Free, an exhibition at the Hyde Park Art Center. Community members and visitors to the Art Center have left these objects to contribute to the exhibition. As you can see, definitions and expressions of freedom range from the personal to the political, and everything in between.

Thoughtful additions to the show contributed by the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program of Northwestern Memorial Hospital

In conjunction with this exhibition, join us on Thursday, August 10th at 6 pm to hear from artist Mario Ybarra Jr., who will be discussing a West Coast mural artist and drawing connections to the current exhibition.

The show will remain up with room for more submissions until September 3, 2006. Come by and add to the discussion, or else post your reactions to the exhibition here.
