Get to know the HPAC crew: Kate Lorenz!
Get excited because you’re about to learn some things you never knew about HPAC’s Associate Director, Kate Lorenz.

Kate Lorenz is HPAC’s Associate Director and has been with the Art Center since 2002 when she started interning. Kate oversees the development department and fundraising, which is where undergraduate degree in statistics from Northwestern comes in handy. The Nashville, TN native spent a semester abroad in Rome and fell in love with renaissance art. Kate then went back to school to earn her graduate degree in art history from the University of Chicago. She came on staff at HPAC in 2003 and enjoys the work that she does here very much.
For the past eight years, Kate has volunteered as a tour guide at the Museum of Contemporary Art. She discovered one of her favorite artists, Gordon Mattaclark, while his work was on display at the MCA. At HPAC, Kate enjoys the people that are involved and the constant overturn of art and artists in the galleries: things are fresh and there is always a variety.
