And we're off...
Our 70 Days for 70 Years festival has begun and I was honored with the very first staff pick of the week.
On Wednesday, April 29th we ventured to the West Loop and got a sneek peek at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers’ upcoming auction items. We saw hundreds of works from artists like Ray Yoshida, Ed Paschke and Roger Brown to only name a few.
All I have to say is that I had an amazing time. There was incredible art, fascinating antiques, the food and wine were plentiful, and of course the company couldn’t have been better. But I should mention that the #1 thing I took away was that auction prices are a deal. If you’re looking to invest in some new art, definitely check out an auction (they’re open to the public), or the Hyde Park Art Center (we have great taste).
Make sure and check your email for this weeks staff pick from Allison Peters Quinn, our Director of Exhibitions. We’ll see if her event tops mine. (I’m sure it will be great…it’s our 70th Anniversary!)
