It's that time of year again: EXPO Chicago, the International Exposition of Contemporary/Modern Art, is upon us. Michelle Grabner, guest curator of the upcoming Art Center exhibition A Study in Midwestern Appropriation , will join us in Booth 102, where we'll be showcasing work by artists in the show. Grabner also has her hands full with quite a few other projects, including a major solo exhibition of her paintings at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, and co-curating the 2014 Whitney Biennial. Between her trips to Manawa, Wisconsin; Oak Park, Illinois; and New York City, we were able to catch up with Grabner to ask a few questions about the artist/curator life balance. Stop by our EXPO booth for more! And don't forget to come to the exhibition reception on Sunday, October 6.
It's now more important than ever to ensure diversity in and access to the visual arts.
- access to arts education
- professional development for artists
- bringing national attention to Chicago's artists
