Our Youth Art Board and students from other area high schools got the great opportunity to work with artist Bibiana Suarez and learn more about her exhibition Memoria (Memory). Bibiana led the students through a conversation about her work and ways of developing symbols and identity. She also talked with the group about the notion of gameplay aesthetics, how she incorporates the idea of gameplaying in her artwork and how it contributes to the broader dialogue her images explore.

Afterwards we created our own sets of memory cards, using found images, popular culture icons, and of course our own imaginations! A fantastic day overall. Thanks to all our participants and of course, Bibiana!
