Friday, June 8th
8pm-midnight
Inspired by some of the local apartment galleries in Chicago, HPAC hosts a one-night art exhibition in 4833 rph on Friday June 8th, in tandem with June’s Cocktails & Clay and music inside artist Juan Chavez’s Speaker Project exhibition.
Tentatively titled Clothesline, the first show is uncurated and open to the public. All artworks are accepted and will be displayed salon-style anywhere and everywhere inside the conference room. This exhibition is generated explicitly through the interest of the community and depends completely upon how they choose to respond to the challenge of an uncurated, non-thematic, nonexclusive public exhibition where participation is optional and open to everyone…for one night only.
There will actually be a clothesline for hanging smaller pieces, but hanging on walls or pedestals or floor/ceiling is also possible (the room is carpeted). The only stipulation is that the artwork must be received by June 7th and picked up by June 11th. Artists interested are encouraged to contact organizer Chris Hammes at chammes@hydeparkart.org before hand so that special attention can be arranged.
