This Session: Dealer as Educator: understanding what you buy
Saturday, January 17th, 2-4pm
Corbett vs. Dempsey Gallery
One of the joys of collecting contemporary art is that, well, the artists are alive. We can meet them, know them, and hear about their work directly from them. And similarly, gallerists and dealers are also able to work with artists directly. This session will explore how you can educate yourself before buying, and find responsible gallerists and dealers who want to make sure you’re educated. Hear from John Corbett, of Corbett vs. Dempsey gallery, and an artist he represents about what you need to know when buying from a dealer.
