Collecting 2.0: Wrap-up and Private Consultations

The Hyde Park Art Center announces its first Collector Workshop Series, Collecting 2.0 to be launched in January 2009.

This four-part series, led by Karen Lennox, will give exclusive and behind-the-scenes look at art collecting in Chicago.

This session: Wrap-up and Private Consultations

Saturday, February 7th, 2:00 - 4:00pm at the home of Karen Lennox

Learn about all the nitty gritties: framing, conserving, and moving your art. We will debrief from gallery night and have a chance to ask specific questions. We will also talk to an expert conservationist, “THE” framer in town who all the artists use, and Karen herself.

Karen Lennox has been an art dealer in Chicago for over 25 years and has placed works in collections and institutions around the world. She began her career as the director of the now defunct Phyllis Kind Gallery, which earned its reputation for launching the careers of many Chicago artists. She later began her own gallery and is currently working independently on the James Castle (American 1900-1977) exhibition which opened in October 2008 at The Philadelphia Museum of Art and will come to the Art Institute of Chicago in October 2009.
