The Hyde Park Art Center’s benefit auction Just Good Art , featuring works by over 100 Chicago artists, makes its annual appearance on Saturday, October 20 at 7pm. This year’s auction exhibition features new works by some of Chicago’s well known as well as emerging artists.

This year, we will keep the adrenaline and excitement going with “dueling” auctioneers. Two of Chicago’s most vibrant art personalities duke it out for your bids on the gallery floor: Victoria Espy Burns, Principal of Burns Sowder, an arts advisory that uses art and culture to transform people, organizations and brands, v.s. Thomas McCormick, Director of Thomas McCormick Gallery.

The works included in the auction are online for preview. If you wish to place a proxy bid, please call Allison Peters at the Art Center 773.324.5520 × 1010 before Saturday, Oct. 20th at 5 pm. The live auction takes place on Saturday, October 20 at 7 pm.

The event includes an evening of drinks, music, food by Homemade Pizza Co., and bidding for your favorite works of art. Tickets for the auction are $30 for members and $35 for the general public. Advance bids on auction items are accepted and proxy bidding can be arranged in advance through the Art Center. Valet parking will be available for $10.

Just Good Art continues the tradition of catering to both novice and seasoned art collectors by offering a unique opportunity to purchase new works by well-respected artists at very reasonable costs while supporting Chicago’s oldest alternative art institution. All proceeds from the auction go to the Hyde Park Art Center’s Exhibitions and Education programming.

Special thanks to Bar Louie (Hyde Park), Homemade Pizza Company, and Ms. Shomer’s class at The Ray Graham Training Center in Chicago for all of their help with the invitations.
