The Precession

December 2010 – March 2011, The Jackman Goldwasser Catwalk Gallery

A new performance and installation by Mark Jeffrey and Judd Morrisey addressing themes of sustainability and futurity through performance-based and digital responses to New Deal era architecture, iconography, migration narratives, and theater. The terrain of the work correlates with the current uncertainty of a collapsed America engineering its own recovery, and is concerned with contemporary personal experiences of transition as well as questions pertaining to the future of human labor, sustainable communities, and creative practice. The work combines time-based live performance with digital media and, more unusually, makes use of social networking environments and real-time data collection techniques to create dynamic “theatrical” dialogues.
