Part I: the William H. Cooper warehouse, Chicago (2011)

Two Histories of the World is an experimental exhibition in multiple phases unfolding a year apart at two contrasting locations. Beginning October 2011 the exhibition took shape at William H. Cooper warehouse in West Humboldt Park, Chicago. The artists created new works in response to the context of the warehouse and were given access to a vast stockpile of second-hand materials at the site.

Part I received the following press:

Art Slant, Top Ten for 2011
Art Slant, Review by Abraham Ritchie
Green Lantern ,write-up by Caroline Picard
New City, feature by Jason Foumberg

A second version of the exhibition, built around memories of the first show, will be presented at the Hyde Park Art Center in September 2012. This curatorial project is organized by Karsten Lund and features artists Mara Baker, Sara Black, Laura Davis and Mike Schuh and additional contributors to be announced.
