Ruth’s Circle

Named in honor of renowned Chicago arts patron and Hyde Park Art Center Honorary Board Chair, Ruth Horwich, Ruth’s Circle is the Art Center’s group of dedicated annual supporters. Like Ruth, this group impacts Chicago’s art and artists directly and supports the Art Center’s ability to:

  • Present 20 original exhibitions annually—supporting nearly 150 artists every year through this program;
  • Reach over 3,000 youth through its outreach programs each year, plus provide free access to the Art Center’s onsite studio classes for talented south side youth—making an investment in the community and supporting Chicago’s next generation of artists;
  • Give 600 students the chance to interact with contemporary art and artists through the Art Center’s field trip program;
  • Host five resident artists from around the world, providing artists with the time and space to create—enriching Chicago’s cultural community;
  • Remain accessible to the 45,000 people who walk through the Hyde Park Art Center’s doors every year by being free and open to the public seven days a week;
  • And much more…
