Submissions are being accepted for the new 2012 Art Exhibit Program at the Bucktown Library located at 1701 N. Milwaukee, Chicago, IL. This Art Exhibit Program is intended to support the overall cultural programming of the Chicago Public Library (CPL) system's History and Heritage Months. Works will be displayed in a group show on the 2nd floor gallery and other places in the library. The CPL History and Heritage Months cover the following topics and works will be displayed for a month during the time-periods described below.
January/February: African American History
Month
March/April: Women's History Month
May/June: Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month
June/July: LGBT Pride Month
Sept/Oct: Hispanic Heritage Month
October/November: Polish American Heritage Month
Requirements:
- Artist bio / history
- CV and exhibit history
- website (if applicable)
- 4 to 5 images representing type of work to be displayed
- size, medium, title
Please answer the following questions:
- Do you live near the Bucktown Library? Which neighborhood?
- How does your art support the themes of the Art Exhibit Program?
- Would you be willing and able to attend opening receptions and to speak about your art?
- If applicable, how have you used any social media or other methods (Facebook, etc.) to promote your art?
Please submit early by the first deadline of September 15, 2011, so that programming can be planned and executed more effectively for 2012.
