Learn to use a potter’s wheel to throw all kinds of functional and sculptural pieces from stoneware and porcelain clay. Feeling free-form? Try coiling, slab construction, and other hand-building techniques. Experiment with unusual textures and surfaces and explore the endless possibilities of glazes, slips, oxides, and other materials and tools. Students of all levels are welcome; intermediate and advanced students may work on independent projects at their own pace. Instruction is geared toward individual ability. Some clay is provided; additional clay is available of purchase.
