Mondays: 6:30 - 9:00 pm
Students will begin working with observation of still life and the figure and move to abstraction from there. Exercises include the reduction of image detail, fragmentation, color, and shape. There will be some discussion of the theoretical basis of abstraction and various artists will be used as examples. It is the goal of this course to focus on a rational approach conceptual image making and for students to explore abstraction to varying degrees. Come to the first class prepared to work in your chosen medium.
