Thursdays: 6:30 - 9:00 pm
Through both guided exercises and independent projects, students will use acrylic paint as a material and their memories as a source for paintings. Memories can come from childhood, a walk outside or this morning’s meal and all are rife with painterly possibilities. Students will discover new ways to use space, time and symbol by concentrating on the visual images they conjure through past experiences. Working in a wide range of sizes, from tiny to relatively large, the students will experiment with different ways to document his or her past experiences and determine which scale fits best. This class is ideal for students who have completed the beginning drawing and/or painting course or have a previous art background.
