This course will introduce students to the tools and techniques fundamental to acrylic painting. Topics covered will include value (light and dark), color theory, the still life, the self-portrait, and methods of working from a photograph. Students will learn color mixing, brush work, and paint handling, and will learn to identify and match colors and values. This course is ideal for students who have some drawing experience and would like to explore a new medium and for students who want to learn basic painting skills. A materials list will be provided on the first day.
