Folds of cloth, expressive costume, and props will all add to overall composition and figurative subject matter. A drawing-into-painting approach with expressive marks, line, and layering will be encouraged. Classroom discussion, art historical references, mini critiques, and final critique will be part of the learning process. Painting in oils or acrylics is encouraged, while drawing in ink or pastel is also welcomed. An 18”×22” canvas is recommended for the first pose.
