While focusing on the figure, students will become familiar with a wide range of drawing materials and techniques. Students will learn to capture the energy of a gesture, the expression on a face, and the proportions of the body. We will use art-historical references to guide our drawings and we will look at how contemporary artists approach the human figure as a subject. Please bring a newsprint pad and a drawing pencil to the first class.
