Celebrate spring! This class will focus on studying nature in a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic, pastel, pencil and charcoal. Students will study flowers and seeds, branches, birds’ nests and other natural structures. Weather permitting, we will also venture outdoors for en plein air landscape painting. Students will look at how nature has inspired artists in the past and discuss its potential in contemporary art. Previous drawing experience is recommended but not required. Classroom discussion, mini critiques, and a final critique and celebration will be part of the learning process.
