Tuesdays: 6:30 - 9:00pm
This multi-level silkscreen course will introduce different ways to create silkscreens using both the basic stencil method and a photo-emulsion based process. We will begin the course with a look at the historical and contemporary use of the poster as a means for revolution, protest, art and the spread of ideas. Both the graphic nature and multiplicity of the silkscreen process creates an artwork that can be efficiently disseminated as propaganda. In addition to the creation of posters, students will be encouraged to use their designs to create t-shirts, hats or whatever else they would like to brand with their personal revolution. To reach the masses, students can post works on the “wheat paste wall” in the Art Center’s parking lot
