The creation of complex textile surfaces will be explored through the use of embroidery, beading, and nontraditional techniques in an attempt to create new and interesting surfaces for use in garment, decor, and stand-alone art pieces. Class time will be devoted to stitching demonstrations and practice alongside the introduction to various regional and historic surface practices.
