Ruth's Circle
Named in honor of Art Center patron and Honorary Board Chair, Ruth Horwich, Ruth’s Circle is the Art Center’s donor circle made up of generous annual supporters.
A donation of $1,000 or more gives you access to Ruth’s Circle’s member only events—such as private collection tours, artist studio visits and intimate dinner discussions—and at the same time affords the Art Center community experiences that they could not have elsewhere. A few examples of what your $1,000 makes possible include:
- Eight students will receive scholarships for art classes in the Art Center’s Oakman Clinton School and Studios.
- Two Second Sundays events—the Art Center’s free monthly family day, full of art making activities and performances.
- The installation of an exhibition in one of our six gallery spaces, providing Chicago artists with opportunities to show new and experimental work.
- A new computer for our digital lab giving our students and artists the opportunity to use new technology in their art practice
- Projection capabilities for our signature 10-foot-high, 80-foot-long façade for one month, allowing artists to experiment with technology and public art in a whole new way.
- A full year of Open Crit—a quarterly opportunity for artists to receive feedback on their work from professional critics while allowing the general public to participate in the process.
Ruth’s Circle is a significant and fun way to involve yourself with the Hyde Park Art Center.
