Volunteer
The Art Center welcomes enthusiastic, reliable and energetic individuals looking to support its mission and get behind-the-scenes experience as a volunteer! There is a wide range of opportunities for volunteers to get involved, whether its learning to paint gallery walls, assisting teaching artists in family workshops, helping at exhibition openings, and more! Our volunteers contribute to a number of events and programs, including:
Education- Second Sundays: free monthly drop-in art making workshops for families
- ARTBAR: a quarterly creative event for adults featuring art making, live music and a cash bar
- Exhibition receptions
- Installation/de-installation
- Artist and curator talks
- Open studios
- Festivals and community events
- Reception
- Office and administration
If you are interested in becoming an Art Center volunteer, please fill out a form and send it along with your resume to Alex Myagkova at amyagkova@hydeparkart.org or via post to 5020 S Cornell Ave, Chicago IL 60615. We will contact you once we receive your materials and send emails with upcoming volunteer opportunities 1-2 times a month, depending on our program schedule. Thank you for your interest and support!
Tuition Exchange
Adults can exchange their volunteer hours for discounts on their own or their child’s tuition for classes in our Oakman Clinton School and Studios. For each volunteer hour you work you can earn $5 off your tuition costs, and pay for up to half your tuition.
