Turtle Onli‘s practice embraces creativity, culture, and commerce. Onli founded B.A.G. the Black Arts Guild to facilitate the transition from youthful talented art students into emerging professionals and life-long visual artists. B.A.G. was also a think-tank where the idea of “Rhythmism” as a future-primitif approach to the visual arts germinated and multidisciplinary cross-applications of artistic techniques were shared. During his residency at the Art Center, Onli plans to focus on using airbrushing techniques to expand on his Rhythmistic Quilts, a collection of textile-wall hangings that are a re-contextualization of traditional icons associated with a wide range of world-cultures.
