I acquired my foundational knowledge of leathercraft in prison, with nothing more than scraps of
leather, needle and thread. I’m inspired by struggle and I seek to create the things I haven’t
seen. I’m from Hyde Park, Chicago, IL, a short walk from one of the country’s most violent
neighborhoods and an even shorter walk from the University of Chicago. My approach to art
and messaging is a reflection of both journeys and each destination.
