2014-2015 Chicago resident Susan Giles opens her studio doors during the Art Center’s 75th anniversary Block Party. Meet the artist for a first view into her studio as she develops a new exhibition to open in the Art Center next Spring.

3D Art Workshop

Explore the process of making three-dimensional art inspired by Susan Giles in a hands-on workshop during her Open Studio. The workshop will explore the steps in problem solving and artistic decision making, which result in dynamic sculptural works. Led by artist Dorothy Bowser, participants will create small-scale sculptures that investigate mood and perspective in Giles’ work. Join us to paper, wire and tape to transform a simple cube into 3D artwork that provokes the senses. All experience levels are welcome and encouraged!
