Emerging artist Matt Harris discusses his exhibition Beyond China, a comment on the ongoing cultural shift between “old” and “new” China. Harris applies silkscreen techniques to ceramic figures. The end result is a comment on the stark differences between ancient kiln ruins and the “futuristic skyscrapers” of China’s rapidly growing cities, such as Shanghai.
