Join us for this Fall’s ARTBAR on Monday September 16th from 6-9pm. Artbar kicks off the Fall 2013 Moving Dialogs series, which features multiple immersive discussion events on Chicago’s Southside. Presented in association with Audience Architects, The Dance Center Columbia College Chicago, and Moving Dialogs, ARTBAR will feature a “Cross-Over” theme, bridging multi-media with dance and body-based visual art, and led in partnership with Moving Dialogs Curator Baraka de Soleil.
For ARTBAR: 2Dance, the Art Center teams up with independent curator Baraka de Soleil & Audience Architects; a dance service organization whose Moving Dialogs:Diversity+Dance humanities discussion series invites all to explore the body as a vital means for discussing the multi-dimensions of diverse cultures, aesthetics and abilities. Featuring acclaimed national artist choreographer Susan Marshall along with Tony Orrico and other local artists, this interactive and participatory event will be designed around a dialogue between movement, multimedia, and visual art while having fun with drawing, clay, and photography tools. In a world where contemporary realities and art are constantly colliding, this ARTBAR moving dialogue welcomes questions and thoughts surrounding performance art, multidisciplinary art, and crossover forms that defy categorization.
We appreciate your donation in an amount meaningful to you. Donations underwrite teaching artists’ time and artmaking materials.
