People of all ages and abilities are invited to come and participate in BACKBONE as part of John Preus’ The Beast.
BACKBONE is a custom “mantle” made of African fish vertebrae, Asian bovine bone, and US stainless steel. Participants “put on” BACKBONE with the help of DOEprojekts‘ artists (and creators of the BACKBONE mantle) Deborah Adams Doering and Glenn N. Doering.
A digital photo will be made of participants wearing BACKBONE in or near The Beast. Photos are posted on the DOEprojekts.org blog (with permission of each participant). It is not necessary to have a photo taken if participants would simply like to put on BACKBONE as a sensory experience.
Past “performances” of BACKBONE may be seen at DOEprojekts.org/participation.
