Stargazers of all ages are invited to participate in this free event hosted in conjunction with the current exhibition Cosmosis. The Adler Planetarium program, Scopes In The City, sets up its high-range telescopes on the south side of the Art Center for one night only! Adler staff and volunteers lead an evening sky observing program, answer questions, and share stories. During that time, Saturn will be in the southeast (and rising slightly) and the crescent Moon will be in the southwest (and setting)!
The event will take place outside of the Art Center’s Bridgeport Coffee Company (by the “ART” wall painting on the building). Bridgeport Coffee Company will stay open late for the event! The Art Center will stay open until 8:45 pm to view the exhibition Cosmosis, so come early!
Follow the Adler on Twitter and at #ScopesintheCity for the most up-to-date locations and times. You never know where these telescopes will pop up next!
