Decoding Artists Run Chicago: Anecdotes and Histories

Coinciding with the release of Proximity Magazine’s issue of Pr featuring a map, timeline and essay entitled Artist-Run Spaces: A Brief History Since 1984 by artist and writer Dan Gunn, Dan will give a short presentation on the specific events, people and places that paved the way for artist-run galleries today. The lecture will also discuss the history of the galleries in the current exhibition Artists Run Chicago and analyze different approaches to running DIY spaces.
