Hyde Park Art Center will be closed on June 19 and we are proud to commemorate and celebrate Juneteenth along with all Chicagoans dedicated to equality and justice for all.

Juneteenth, is now a federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, observed annually on June 19th. This is the oldest nationally celebrated. commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.  From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day (Juneteenth) has spread across the United States and beyond.

Exhibition Reception for Hairy Blob

Join many of the artists and the curators from the exhibition Hairy Blob in celebrating their latest achievements. Refreshments will be served.
