Two Histories of the World is an experimental exhibition unfolding in multiple phases over the course of an entire year at two contrasting locations. Beginning October 2011, the exhibition took shape at William H. Cooper warehouse in West Humboldt Park, Chicago. The artists Mara Baker, Sara Black, Laura Davis and Mike Schuh created new works in response to the context of the warehouse and were given access to a vast stockpile of second-hand materials at the site. A second version of the exhibition, built around memories of the first show, is presented at the Hyde Park Art Center. This curatorial project is organized by Karsten Lund, writer and Curatorial Assistant at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.
