The acclaimed documentary film The Pruitt-Igoe Myth comes to the Hyde Park Art Center for a free screening. If you missed it at the Gene Siskel Film Center over the summer, now is your chance to see this important film.

The Pruitt-Igoe Myth (2011) explores the social, economic and legislative issues that led to the decline of conventional public housing in America, and the city centers in which they resided, while tracing the personal and poignant narratives of several of the residents of the notorious Pruitt-Igoe public housing complex in St. Louis. The film is directed by Chad Freidrichs and co-produced by Chad Freidrichs, Jaime Freidrichs, Brian Woodman, and Paul Fehler.

Directly following the screening, sociologist and photographer, David Schalliol will lead a discussion on the film.
