Film Screening & Panel Discussion: Hairy Who and the Chicago Imagists

November 7, 2014 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Join us at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts for a screening of Pentimenti Productions’ documentary film, Hairy Who and The Chicago Imagists , followed by a panel discussion about the Imagist movement with art world luminaries.

Please note: This event takes place at an offsite venue.

HAIRY WHO AND THE CHICAGO IMAGISTS

A lavishly-illustrated romp through Chicago Imagist art: the Second City scene that challenged Pop Art’s status quo in the 1960s, then faded from view. Forty years later, its funk and grit inspires artists from Jeff Koons to Chris Ware. The film’s first screening in Hyde Park, where the Imagists got their start. Screening followed by a panel of leading art experts, including Richard Born, Senior Curator at the Smart Museum of Art, Leslie Buchbinder, Director of Hairy Who and The Chicago Imagists and Allison Peters Quinn, the Hyde Park Art Center’s Director of Exhibition & Residency Programs, moderated by Rebecca Zorach, Professor of Art History, Romance Languages and Literatures, at the University of Chicago. Seating is limited.
