Since August of last year, the 2012-2013 Chicago Park District/Chicago Sculpture International (CSI) Outdoor Exhibition has been on display in Chicago’s lakefront parks. This is the largest Chicago exhibition of outdoor sculptures in over a decade and includes 64 pieces of juried art. The sculptures can be found from Promontory Point on the South Side to Belmont Harbor on the North Side.
The public is invited to attend a slide presentation and conversation about the exhibition and the future of public sculpture in Chicago. Sculptors from CSI and other people involved in recognizing sculpture in our great city will share their views, and a catalog of the outdoor exhibit will be available for purchase. Speakers include: Eric Stephenson, president of CSI or Bob Emser; Fisher Stolz, vice-president of CSI and director of the exhibition; and Ed McDevitt, executive director of Public Art Chicago: Carolyn Bendel or Margot McMahon, outdoor committee member.
