Materials Decoded: Final Presentations

December 2, 2017 @ 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Architects-in-Residence, Ryan Gann and Karl Ochmanek present their research and process of investigating common building materials in uncommon ways.  Gann explored the qualities of Chicago brick while Ockmanek focused on plate glass.  Artist, board member, and former instructor of the two, Amanda Williams will introduce the projects and help facilitate an open dialogue with the public and the emergent architects about the purpose of decoding materials used to build our neighborhoods and cities.

This event is free, open to the public, and held in conjunction with the exhibition Materials Decoded, on view until January 7, 2018.  Materials Decoded is supported in part by the Chicago Architecture Biennial and Chicago Community trust.
