Facilitator Bios:
Hamza Walker is Director of Education and Associate Curator for the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago. Walker’s curatorial projects there have included “Several Silences” (2009); “Black Is, Black Ain’t” (2008); “KateÅ™ina Å edá” (2008); “Meanwhile, in Baghdad” (2007); “All the Pretty Corpses” (2005); “A Perfect Union…More or Less” (2004); and “New Video, New Europe” (2004). He is the recipient of the Ordway Prize, one of the art world’s most prominent awards, for his “significant impact on the field of contemporary art.” He has previously been labeled one of the “seven most influential curators in the country” by The New York Times, which also described him as”one of the museum world’s most talented essayists.”
