Resident artist Sanjeev Shankar invites you to his studio to learn about his ongoing research and work with public sculptural installation, in particular a new version of Jugaad (pictured here) for Chicago. Part canopy, part flying carpet, the structure, which is made of recycled oil tins created collectively with a range of practitioners, demarcates a space for public programming or simply a shady place to gather. All are welcome for an inside look at this transdisciplinary practice blending architecture, design, participation and visual art.
