Rosine Kouamen works across media including photography, sculpture and installation to investigate the transformation of culture and create visual narratives expressing cultural memory. Born in Douala, Cameroon Kouamen immigrated to the United States as a teenager and is a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute and the University of Houston. Kouamen has exhibited at Texas Southern University Museum, Project Row Houses, Lawndale Art Center, Texas Contemporary Art Fair (ARTADIA finalist ’12), Main Street Project, DiverseWorks, Art Place, Blaffer Museum, Lone Star Studios, Blue Star Lab In San Antonio and the Swell Gallery in San Francisco.
Rosine Kouamen’s residency is a part of Hyde Park Art Center’s 222 Exchange with Project Row Houses.
