Consuming War addresses the ways the American media and consumer culture have manipulated and influenced our perceptions of war. Prior to the reception, Michael Zerang and Jim Baker perform works honoring their friend, Malachi Ritscher, on the anniversary of his death in protest of the Iraq war.
We also open Alice Shaddle: Fragments in a Fractured Space, recent collage work that focuses on the processes of destruction and fissure, exploring tragedy and chaos.
Concert for Malachi: 2-3pm
