This writing workshop covers the genres of Afrofuturism, Speculative Fiction, and Science Fiction, inspired by the work of Octavia Butler.
Writers of all levels will appreciate this workshop on developing complex characters. Everyone has a story to tell, but what is it that makes a story compelling? Do we know more about a character based on what the author reveals or conceals? Students will create a profile for a new character and then practice dramatic writing by resolving a conflict.
The workshop is facilitated by author Zetta Elliot, and is free, open to all.
Registration is required for this event. Register here.
