Pedagogical Factory: How We Remember: Libraries
July 25, 2007 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Discuss libraries with Chicago Underground Library (CUL) and other local archivists!
CUL is a location-specific library of independent works from the area. Including anything and everything, regardless of perceived quality or importance, the collection uses the local context to bridge gaps between content, format, and commercial viability while encouraging cross-pollination in collaboration and research. CUL coordinator, Nell Taylor, presents items from the collection to illustrate the reasoning behind the CUL’s atypical, highly detailed (and unscientifically approved) approach to indexing a community’s creativity and the impact that access to unfiltered data can have on how we remember.
