Face Masks: Eyes, Mouth, Nose and Circles, Rectangle, Triangle
Express your emotions, mood and self through colors and shapes. Build an abstract face mask inspired by your own face and the colors and shapes found in the paintings by Cándida Alvarez’s mambomountain exhibition. We will learn how to depict a face with abstract imagery shapes and how color can help express how we feel. For this project we will be using paper, foam and felt to create original works of art!
Inspired by mambomountain, we will be creating works of art based on juxtaposition of organic shapes, fluid designs and captivating patterns. Each participant will get to make a “Repousse Zentangle”, or utilize a metalworking technique in which malleable metal is ornamented or shaped by pressing an intricate tangle of relief patterned designs.
