Rhonda Wheatley will lead a workshop called Painted Doily Collage Flowers and Other Shapes. Participants will collage bits and pieces of lacey doilies onto paper which will make a cool texture. Taking these doilies and cutting them into shapes, like flowers, clouds, or ice cream cones. Shapes will be provided or you can draw your own. Next we will paint your doily collage with water colors and watch the paint and texture work together to make an interesting effect.
Elke Claus – Block Print Pattern Paper workshop
Using plant and flower shapes as inspiration, we will design, carve, and print small rubber blocks. These will be used like rubber stamps to repeat forms, thereby creating patterns in a variety of colors. The result will be colorful decorative art on paper.
