The Public Art class taught by Annette Barbier in the Department of Interactive Arts and Media at Columbia College is presenting a number of individual works for the facade display system at the Hyde Park Art Center on April 21 & 22, 6-10 PM. The unique spatial configuration of screens, the location in a Chicago neighborhood, and the opportunity to reflect on the meaning of public and private space has led students to create works that are both formally and thematically compelling. Subjects range from playful portraits to abstract meditations on light and growth and fast paced city symphonies. Please join the student artists for a 40-minute program that will loop throughout the four hour screening each evening.
