States of Matter Exploratory Workshop

August 18, 2016 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

“What does it feel like to move like a molecule? Molecular Movement is a collaborative research project which brings together artists and scientists to explore molecular dynamics simulations as the basis for a novel form of dance. Whether excited or relaxed, the molecule is constantly in motion: vibrating, colliding, folding and unfolding. The molecule may be thought of as an individual subjectivity brought into social relation through community rituals of exchange. Sharing and stealing electrons. Forming and breaking bonds. Storing and releasing energy. A theater of continuous flux and flow.”Join us in Gallery 1 for States of Matter, a participatory movement workshops lead by art/science collaborative Molecular Movement.
Adults interested in participating in the interactive dance workshop should wear movement-friendly shoes and clothing or just come by and observe! All levels welcome. So come shake your molecules! Pizza and refreshments will follow.About Molecular Movement:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbHTbrsdQTA&feature=youtu.be
