In its second form at the Hyde Park Art Center, the exhibition Two Histories of the World features all new artworks reflecting on the experience of the first exhibition, which took place in an old warehouse on the West side. Through a series of discussions in the galleries this fall, the exhibition also becomes a conduit for personal recollections of a place that no longer exists—the original factory site, now demolished—and a way to gather different perspectives on the first version of this exhibition, one year ago. The second discussion moderated by Karsten Lund invites the public to hear more about the initial exhibition that took place in the warehouse. Join the authors who wrote about their impressions of this place in texts produced for the exhibition (available in the gallery), including Dana Carter, Caroline Picard, and Heather Mekkelson, along with others who attended the warehouse exhibition as they share their experiences and recollections of the show. The event aims to let these personal stories introduce the place to a new audience in a different way.
