The METAMORPHOSIS of Gabriel Villa Artist Talk

June 3 @ 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Join artist Gabriel Villa for a virtual exhibition walkthrough and conversation with cultural promoter, transgender activist, writer and graphic designer, Franky Piña about Villa’s exhibition, The METAMORPHOSIS of Gabriel Villa.

About the Exhibition: Through an extensive studio and public art practice, Chicago-based artist Gabriel Villa seeks to seamlessly translate the language of Mexican traditions and the personal, urban American experience into charged intimate narratives. Villa’s subjects are ever evolving but always concentrate on psychological and social inequity in our multifaceted contemporary world. His stream of consciousness approach to painting and drawing expose the heightened reality found in everyday objects and places. Hyde Park Art Center is proud to introduce Villa’s new direction into installation, clay sculpture created during his Jackman Goldwasser Residency along with previous paintings.
